Coinciding with my CrossFit training course I have been spending time at night watching and being inspired by the Olympics. This morning I read a particularly uplifting article about Bill Schuffenhauer, a U.S. bobsledder who went from being homeless on the streets of Utah to the pinnacle of athleticism. You can check out the article at:CNN Article
I found it striking that he had a turning point as his Grandmother took him in off the streets and worked with him and "reminded me to never give up and always push on".
This was a common theme this weekend at my CrossFit course as I watched the athletes on the floor pushing amazing weights into the air with perfect form. Or seeing rep after rep of pullups and double unders (jumping rope) performed. Never give up - Never give in. Believe in yourself and your dreams and make them happen. It is an amazing gift to be able to realize this and to be able to push yourself to make it happen.
It is important that we find that person who keeps us accountable to our dreams and our goals. To push us to be better than we could ever be if we only pushed ourselves. We should all be so lucky to be connected to a world and people who give us that opportunity to push ourselves, our standards and work towards building and creating our ultimate dreams.
